Hi. What is the difference between Dr.Floras and Metamucil, Benefiber and alike?
Dawn writes:
March, the Dr Floras colon cleanse is specifically developed for colon cleansing. It’s the only product that I know of on the market with Psyllimax™ in it.
LT writes:
I just heard about a colon cleanse product on the radio y-day. So I came to the internet to do some research. I came across this blog. Is this process new to the medical world or am I living in a vacuum? No one has mentioned much about weight loss or inches lost around the belly and butt. And is this a main stream blog or is it sponsored by DrFloras?
Lena writes:
Do you have to follow a special diet while taking DrFloras or can you eat regular (healthy) food?
Sharon writes:
If this products as good as you say,why do you need to take pills with the powder as well???
Dawn writes:
LT, although most people are likely going to lose weight after a colon cleanse, I would not make that the focus of this product. I can say however that your digestive process may be greatly improved and this will allow you to better absorb food and lead to less weight gain. You may also increase your energy levels causing you to burn more calories each day than you used to, so in the long run, you lose weight there as well. Using the Dr Floras colon cleanse as well as the Parasite Defense and Probiotics is just a really good thing to do.
Lena, there is no special diet, although you should try to eat healthy while on the product. Many people like to fast during a portion of their cleanse, and I might recommend that the first few days of the cleanse, eating small meals if needed.
Sharon, the pills are an enhancing agent for those that need it. My guess as to why they weren’t just all added to the powder would be…. for cost reasons and because the pills contain a lot of the charcoal element which would make your drinks a blackish color. Psycologically, that might be hard for many people to get past. But then again, I could be wrong, as I am not a doctor or scientist.
Lainey writes:
Dawn, I see you didn't answer the question presented by LT when he/she asked: And is this a main stream blog or is it sponsored by DrFloras?
Dawn writes:
LT, my readers made sure I didn't skip your question! I got about a dozen emails like the one above from Lainey, so here goes. I have used and recommended DrFloras since before having this website, and highly recommend it to others. I am so passionate about the product and how well it can improve the lives of those that use it, that I have signed up to provide order links to the DrFloras site whereby it pays me on sales I refer, which in turn help keep this site alive and warn others about the total garbage that is out there. I don’t work for DrFloras, nor is this site owned by them. I choose to promote the product that I use (and I have tried everything out there.)
To keep this in perspective, I could create a review site and rank some product that pays far higher commissions than what I get, and lead people to buy a product that doesn't work, but it would pay me well. I will never do that.
Everything I say on this blog or in these comments are true, and they are backed up by thousands of others who post about their beneficial experiences using DrFloras, or their nightmares of using other products, which at best wastes their money and at worse can make matters worse.
I could have certainly not posted your questions LT & Lainey, and avoided this altogether (like many sites do), but full disclosure is best, and you guys should know that I truly want to help others quickly find a product that took me years to find (and a miserable time trying half a dozen other products that were terrible.)
Bottom line is this -- with DrFloras 1 year money back guarantee, you can order their products and if they do not work for you, you send them back. No restocking fee, no gimmicks, etc. They really are the best company in this market, by far.
RVG writes:
Am I correct in understanding that a colon cleanse kills bad bacteria which is also termed "parasite cleanse"?
Dawn writes:
RVG, DrFloras colon cleanse is VERY thorough, and it cleans you out good. One of the drawbacks to getting rid of all the bad is that you also get rid of some of the good bacteria. Its for this reason that DrFloras has a probiotic product you take that replenishes the weak and old 'good' bacteria that was flushed out, with super healthy and strong bacteria. It's like eating some super yogurt developed in a super lab -- only instead of yogurt, it's a few capsules you take.
Kathy writes:
I used to be on Isagenix and was about to order when I came upon this website. I need to losse 20# but Isagenix leaves me sstarving and having to run to a bathroom all the time?
Dawn writes:
Kathy, I've heard from many Isagenix users that they feel super hungry all the time and get diarrhea or need to stay close to a bathroom. That seems to be the problem with most cleanses on the market, especially if it comes in capsule form. Remember, with DrFloras, you are mixing a powder into your favorite fruit juice. The only capsules you take are for support products, not for the main cleanse. Big difference! For weight loss, or more specifically, hunger suppression, you should check out www.hoodiaprime.com . I have used their product and it is fantastic -- the best I have ever tried.
Lawrence Brown writes:
ok, so you cleanse your colon. What about replacing the healthy pathogens that needs to in your colon.
Dawn writes:
Lawrence, DrFloras comes with a Probiotic product that you can purchase standalone, or you can get it as part of their Ultimate Kit. It replaces all the good bacteria so that your intestinal tract is strong and fights off all the nasty guys in there. I have used it and even give it to my dog on the advice of my vet.
Midge writes:
I take a product called Floralax II but it has Psyllium husks and goes so thick and gooey that I gag and wretch when taking this slime.... It doesn't matter how much water I take or how quickly I drink it... It makes me gag. Will this one go thick and goopey in h2o or juice??? I would never be able to do this for 15 days if this is the case...
Dawn writes:
Midge, all psyllium based products thicken up when liquid is introduced. DrFloras uses Psyllimax instead of normal psyllium, and I find that when I mix it with apple juice, it doesn't thicken up very quickly. So mix DrFloras with apple juice like everybody else is doing and you should be fine.
Leeza writes:
Hi, How is this cleanse different from the Evercleanse? It states the same things as well as weight loss. Let me know.
Lucy writes:
Hi Everyone, great feed back. I have never done a cleanse like this before... and I am looking into it. The whole mucoid thing is super yucky, and looks painful, and looks like it would be quite gross to deal with. Please let me know what you think. When you take the crystals do you need to be near a bathroom for the whole clense... or can you go about your regular life? I am hoping to lose 10 pounds at least, and feel healthier, and hopefully have less stomach and bowel issues.
Dawn writes:
Leeza, I haven't tried evercleanse, so I can't comment on how well it works. I know others have written me saying they always have to be close to a bathroom when on evercleanse, so that is a BAD sign to me. Why don't you give it a try and then come back and post your results? Or you can take my advice and use DrFloras which I can assure you works and doesn't require you plan your day around the proximity of a restroom.
September Winds writes:
hey lucy, i know where you are coming from. the first time i saw the pics, i was freaked out. they look huge, those mucoid plaque stools, but they arent. they dont hurt or anything like that. they actually float and it feels good to get them out and know you are cleasning yourself. dawn is right on with this product... get it, because dr floras works really well.
Virginia Johnson writes:
How do I order your product?
Dawn writes:
Virginia, it's not my product, but I whole-heartdly endorse DrFloras brand products here on my blog. You can visit the DrFloras site by using the link at the bottom of this page.
Aliban writes:
Seeing that everyone has been pretty candid w/ their inputs, I have a question to anyone out there. Does it make you "run" to the toilet? My big fear is I will be at work and have to run down the hallway! Literally!!!
John writes:
For how long do you take this product... The site says 90 days....???? isn't that a bit extreme???... What about the flora pills which are not included but recommended.??
Dawn writes:
Aliban, you don't have to worry about being close to any bathroom. DrFloras colon cleanse will make you regular and you'll likely go to the bathroom once or twice per day, but they will be the same time each day, and unlike diarrhea that you get from other cleanses, you won't have that feeling and control when and where you go just like you can now.
John, I think you have DrFloras confused with another product. The cleanse only lasts 15 days, and then you can do the parasite defense which is another 15 days, and finally if you do the probiotics, that is 30 days. Total is 60 days. I would agree with you that 90 days of straight cleansing is too much, and in my opinion, companies that recommend that typically are more interested in your money than your health.
Gretta writes:
do you get stomach or abdominal cramps from it?
Dawn writes:
No, I have never had stomach or abdominal cramps from using DrFloras. I have had severe cramps from using products that liquify your waste through oxygenation. Those products not only hurt, but you MUST be close to a bathroom at all times, and you should carry a spare change of underwear just in case. You don't have that issue with products that use Psyllimax in them.
Deborah writes:
With today's bad eating habits and the food chemicals. I do believe that we develop extra build ups in our body that is NOT healthy. I would like to get a good cleaner that is not costly.
Dawn writes:
Deborah, I agree with you. My friend just recently commented that she thought $157 was expensive for the DrFloras Ultimate Kit. I then explained to her that the Ultimate Kit is a 60 day program, and the cost breaks down to less than $2.70 per day, the amount she was spending every day on Sodas at the office, and she would feel 10X better after the cleanse than she did when she started it. Seriously, $2.70 per day for 60 days? It's a no-brainer, right? DrFloras is the best and least expensive brand you can buy that ACTUALLY works.
Beatriz writes:
You mentioned that if a product comes in pill formula, you shouldn't trust it. But the Dr. Floras formula comes in a combination of a powder and pills. Is the other combination pills Dr. Floras Cleanse Support , Dr. Floras Probiotics , Dr.Floras Parasite Defense and DrFloras Bowel Regulator really necessary? Would I get good results just taking Dr. Floras Colon Cleanse? Or would the other combination pills benefit me more overall?
Dawn writes:
eatriz, I mentioned that if the main cleansing product came in pills you shouldn't trust it. The products that come in capsule form from DrFloras are not the cleansing products. The colon cleanse product by DrFloras is a powder you mix into your drink. As for your question about the other products, I would recommend you get everything that comes in the Ultimate Kit. I have not tried the colon cleanse without the cleans support capsules, but you could certainly try. The DrFloras site claims their were designed to be used together.
Cidster writes:
Not sure if this has already been answered, but is this product the same as the ever "media" announced "everclense' on the radio 95.3 to be exact ?
Dawn writes:
No Cidster, EverCleanse is not the same product. Not even close. Is a Ferrari a Hyundai? :-) DrFloras is the premium brand on the market.
Debbie writes:
what kind of a moron are you!
Oxygen based products do the body good. Open your eyes and shut your mouth long enough to try the oxygen based products.
I use oxypowder all the time it promotes my body to go on its own. It cleanses me out when I eat things I should not eat and I don't have to drown myself in water
Dawn writes:
Debbie, I completely DISAGREE with you.
I have used oxygen based products before (two different brands.) I know what they do to me and others who have written in. Ask anybody who has taken an oxygen based product, and they will all tell you they have diarrhea when using the product. However, those proponents of oxygen cleanses will tell you it's not diarrhea, no-no-no... that the liquid stools are just the bad stuff being liquified. Huh? Liquid stools to me is diarrhea -- either way, you're cramped, passing gas all day, and running to the bathroom at work all day when you thought you passed gas but instead something squirted out -- NO Thank You!
Renee writes:
is there any caffeine in this product?
Dawn writes:
No. The ingredients are posted at the DrFloras.com website. No caffeine listed.
MaggieD writes:
What happens if, like me, a person is always constipated due to a side affect of a medication? The meds I take slows down peristalsis to a crawl. (FYI if you don't know: peristalsis is the wave like motion of the intestines that move waste matter thru the GI tract.) This is very problematic for me as I have to take a laxative to go at all. How could colon cleansing work for me if I have no or very slow peristalsis?
Dawn writes:
MaggieD, a lot of laxatives are addictive to your digestive tract, and when you get off them, you become constipated because your system doesn't want to work without the laxatives. It is for this reason that I always stay away from anything that has Senna in it. Do any of the things you have or are using contain Senna? I have read messages sent to me by people who claimed they have become regular for the first time in their life after using DrFloras products. What do you have to lose? Not much. And you have a lot to gain. If it doesn't work for you, send it back for a refund.
Dee writes:
Would it be safe to take Dr Floras CC AND Acai Berry product or juice with Acai Berry "anti-oxidant" benefits?? Looking for both anti-oxidant benefits and an efficent cleanse.
Dawn writes:
Dee, I would do the cleanse and then take your Acai berry products afterwards. Remember that if your colon is fouled up like most people's, then you may only be absorbing part of the nutrients you take in, and this would include your Acai Berry product. After the DrFloras cleanse, your system should be running at peak efficiency, and the Acai you take will be readily absorbed into your system, making it far more effective than if you had a fouled up colon. This applies to all food and supplements!
Henry Idonije writes:
I will try it to see how effective it works. Really acai berry does not work for me. It is just a hype by Dr. Perricone.
Marcia writes:
How do I order? Where is the number to call? I feel bloated everyday, would this make me bloated even more? Can anyone tell me the directions of how to take this product and how often you go bathroom after taking it?..Thnx..Marcia
Dawn writes:
Marcia, visit the DrFloras site using the link below and it answers all the questions you just asked. Look at their FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page.

Just came across this website after looking at other colon cleansing products.
I notice that there is mention of a pill. I have a hard time with pills and if they are too big, I won't bother. Can someone tell me if the pills are big and hard to swallow or if they're coated or what?
Dawn writes:
Ann51, there are no pills -- the support products come in vegi capsules and are easy to swallow. The main colon cleanse product is a powder you scoop out and mix into your drink. Very easy and convenient. There is no tea to steep or anything else that takes a long while. Easy, Easy!
